Studies through the book of Nehemiah from Sunday morning Gatherings at Calvary Chapel Perris Valley by pastor Bob Ybarra

The history of the nation of Israel is a bitter-sweet one.  Under the leadership of the shepherd boy turned king, David, and later his wise son Solomon, the kingdom flourished in the land God gave them.  But then came division, corruption and eventually their being overrun by their eastern neighbors.

Being allowed to return to their land and their city Jerusalem, under the Persian king, the remnant that returned floundered and struggled. The temple had been rebuilt but likely not to its former glory.  The city remained in rubble.  It was these conditions that brought grief and moved the Persian king's cupbearer, Nehemiah, to pray and seek his God.

His story is full of application for our lives today.  Learn of the heart of leadership, the grace given as he trusts his God and the remarkable result, even in the midst of his enemies.  Believe me, you will be inspired by the life and faith of Nehemiah.
