While visiting missionaries in northern Italy in 2022 I had the opportunity to ride the high speed train. These trains are surprisingly affordable and are very comfortable.

Japan 2011, Start of the Cafe
First mission trip to Japan after March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami. We were there for a week to do relief ministry. This area was less than 2 miles from the ocean and was hit by 20' waves. The ministry in Japan was going to use the building as a cafe for the survivors to come and be served. Directly across the street was an elementary school used as a shelter where for a time over 400 people were staying. We have continued to return each year.
Japan Mission 2011, Tokyo Subway
Traveling in Japan during most of the day is easy on their commuter trains but at times can be a tight squeeze during the busiest commuter hours of the day when people going or coming from work and school.
